UNIBEN Postgraduate Admission Requirements

1. Academic Qualifications:
   • A candidate must have a minimum of five (5) credits in WASC, NECO, GCE (ordinary level or their equivalents), including English Language and Mathematics.
2. Additional Qualifications:
   • Four credits at Ordinary level, plus OND (not pass), NCE, IJMB, or Advance level passes or any other equivalent.
   • Holders of a Pass (Degree/Diploma) are not eligible for admission into postgraduate programs.
   • Those with a 3rd class degree must possess PGD to be considered for admission into Master’s programs.
3. Master’s Degree and Ph.D. Requirements:
   • Candidates with a Master’s degree and a Weighted Average Score (WAS) between 55.0-59% can be considered for admission into the M.Phil. program.
   • Ph.D. applicants must have a minimum weighted average score of 60% in the Master’s degree.
4. NYSC Certificate:
   • Only students with the NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate can be allowed to clear into the university’s postgraduate program.

UNIBEN Postgraduate Form 2023/2024

The University of Benin School of Postgraduate Studies is now accepting applications for the 2023/2024 academic session. The available programs include Postgraduate Diploma, Masters degree, and Ph.D. on both full-time and part-time bases.

Application Fee:

The cost of the UNIBEN postgraduate form for 2023/2024 is N22,000 (Twenty-Two Thousand Naira Only). This fee is non-refundable.

Application Process:

1. Payment:
   • Candidates are required to purchase the application forms online with a valid VISA, MASTER, or VERVE CARD from any commercial bank in Nigeria.
2. Form Submission:
   • After payment, the form must be correctly filled with all required information before submitting online. It should then be printed from the school website www.uniben.edu.ng.
3. Printing Forms:
   • Candidates need to print the application and referee forms after completing the registration form.
4. Screening Test:
   • Candidates will undergo the University of Benin PG screening test, with some programs exempt from entrance exams based on admission requirements.
