Commencement of 2023 JAMB Direct Entry Registration:
The JAMB Direct Entry registration is scheduled to commence on Monday, 20th March 2023. This comes after the initial start date of 20th February was suspended due to the discovery of numerous attempts to compromise the standard of A’ Level qualifications required for DE candidates.
Reasons for New Guidelines:
Professor Is-haq Oloyede highlighted the suspension of the initial registration due to a high incidence of forgery involving A-Level certificates. To address this, the JAMB board has implemented new guidelines to ensure the integrity of the registration process.
New Guidelines for Direct Entry Registration/Exam:
To maintain the credibility of the DE registration process, JAMB has introduced new guidelines, including:
a. Failed Session Rescheduling: If an exam session cannot commence within 60 minutes of its scheduled time, it will be automatically rescheduled. Candidates affected by such occurrences should wait in the waiting hall for the new scheduled examination time and venue.
b. Qualifications/Certificate: JAMB will only accept thirteen qualifications/certificates for the 2023 DE registration, including First Degree, University Diploma, HND, OND, NCE, JUPEB, IJMB, NABTEB Advanced Certificates, Higher Islamic Studies Certificate, GCE-A’ Level, International Baccalaureate, and Nursing/Midwifery certificates.
c. JAMB Data Bank Renamed: The data bank addressing A’ Level qualification issues has been renamed as the ‘Nigeria Post-secondary Education Data System.’
